Ringing in the New Year

Can you believe that it is almost 2010??? Where did this year go? I can not believe that Christmas is over and that they year is coming to an end! I wish I had a way to slow time down and just enjoy every single second for more than just a second! Anyway, I was in Walmart last night and I saw these glasses and laughed as Sophia has loved glasses lately (see my last few posts and you will know what I am talking about!). So, I decided to buy a pair for my whole family for New Year's Eve. I am hoping to get tons of fun pictures. Well, Sophia found the bag today and wanted to wear the glasses. So, here she is!!! I had so much fun with this layout! I used "Ringing in the New Year" word art by Bekah E Designs. The preview is linked to her store at SDD. And for the kit, I used Sir Scrapalot's "One Minute To Midnight" which was a Christmas gift from Emily at Polka Dot Pixels!

I also made a personal layout using the same two kits. I decided this year to make 3 New Year's Resolutions. You can read all about it in my layout. This is the first time I made a layout for ME and it feels good to have done it!

Here is another layout made using Bekah's Ringing in the New Year Word Art.

Scrapable Blog Challenge

Here is the challenge for this half of the month: "Today. I would like to get to your history of how you became a digital scrapper. Did you paper scrap? Who inspired you? Where did you first call "home" in the digi-land? Anything you'd like to say about your venture into digital scrapbooking."

So, I started digital scrapping in January of 2009. I had always paper scrapped and loved doing it as I love to look back at memories and actually be able to remember everything! I have 4 or 5 FULL 12x12 paper scrapbooks for my college days and of my wedding and honeymoon. When Sophia was born, I was SO excited to start her scrapbook. I worked on it like a mad woman for the first 6 months of her life. It was so easy to do as I would put her in her swing and she would watch me and loved seeing me do stuff! Well, around 6 months of age she started getting in to things. Then eventually came the full out crawl around Christmas time and my scrapping days ended. She was grabbing the paper and the pens and getting in to everything. By the time she fell asleep at night, there was no time to take everything out before it was time to clean it up so I could go to bed.

In January, I saw a friend create a layout digi-scrap style and I could not believe it! It was beautiful. So, I started researching. I heard about "Scrappity-Doo-Dah" a digi scrap site and started hanging out there a bit. I did not post, but just lurked. Around this same time, I found scrapable.net. I loved their style and I loved how friendly everyone seemed. I immediately started posting there and I loved every minute of it. I am now on a bunch of CTs and scrap every single day!!! I love digi-scrapping and I love the fact that I will be able to leave Sophia all kinds of memories of her childhood.

Well, as soon as I downloaded Shabby Boy, I was an immediate fan!!! She is a GREAT designer. I don't have a boy, so I snagged some pictures from a friend and here is what I came up with!!!
